Right now, time is not on my side and this will probably go on till the end of the year. On some days I feel like I should give it all up, lie down on my bed and cry. But sometimes, I feel like I'm a superwoman, so I can do this. All I have to do is hustle through. At times, I feel like I've lost myself and what I need to do is just take a day off, get to know my priorities and tell myself that I'm going to be fine.

Some people think I have all my life figured out but really, I don't. I stress a lot when things don't get done on time. I hate uncertainties and definitely hate feeling like a lost child. That's why I make sure I do 5 things in life. You know....just to get my life into perspective and make sure I'm on track.

1. Get a planner

Doesn't matter if it's just the calendar in your phone, or a lame notebook from a stationary store down the street, just make sure you have one. Make sure you jot down every single plans so you don't miss out anything.

2. Read a book

I have to admit, I have been missing this one out and I feel really guilty! Reading used to be my number 1 escape but sadly after working, I used that reading time for sleeping instead. But really, there is so much to learn just from reading. So try it!

3. Workout once in a while

You don't have to do strength training, run a marathon or carry weights. A simple walk in the park will help you clear your troubled mind. Of course, don't do it so much when the haze is really bad! I go to the gym at least twice a week just to sweat it out. I feel so much better after a quick workout.

4. Socialise

I feel really good to be in a place where I get to meet other people. I have a few close friends but I don't just restrict myself to them. Talk to people, listen to their stories, share your thoughts. We have so much to learn from each other.

5. Be really nice to yourself

You probably hear this a lot but do you practise it? I don't. I beat myself up over trivial things so many times that I think it's normal to do so. I thought it was self-motivation but we all know it's not. Get a cup of nice coffee, buy a slice of cake for lunch, grab that lipstick you've been swatching on your hand every time you go to Sephora and wear something nice on a Monday - whatever makes you really happy.

I hope everyone had a great Monday so far. I was stuck at home with a flu. Maybe because of the haze or it could also mean I'm really tired. Whatever it is, I think I deserve some chicken marinated with teriyaki. Till the next post!

  2. Nice post, I definitely love nu 1. Actually just started to have a planner in the middle of this year and it really changes my life. I feel like I could do more and get track of what I've done so at the same time I don't push myself too hard.

And when you have a planner, its really not so hard to squeeze time for 2, 3, 4 and 5!

    1. Thank you!

Planner is my saviour. It puts everything into places.
